MSRIP-México

MSRIP-México

Launched in 2015 at the UCR and UCD campuses, MSRIP-México is a system-wide competitive program for undergraduate students from Mexico to participate in an eight (8)-week mentored summer research experience at a UC campus. This program helps fulfill one of President Napolitano's strategic goals for the UC-Mexico Initiative, which is to increase academic mobility between UC and Mexico. It is expected that this program will serve as an academic pipeline for qualified Mexican students to graduate studies in the UC system.

The educational opportunity are to:

  • Introduce participating students to participate in research and to explore graduate opportunities at UC
  • Prepare students for graduate studies through a variety of workshops and professional development
  • Foster bilateral faculty/student interrelationships

Undergraduate student participants must be enrolled in a Mexico higher education institution recognized by ANUIES (Mexico's Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior, www.anuies.mx). Students do not apply to participate in MSRIP-México. Mexico institutions will submit nominations directly to MSRIP-México, and commit to sponsoring nominated students.
